Growing up as a Christian Easter was always the day we would go to church and fellowship with other Christians.

As a kid, I never thought about the origin of Easter.

It was brought to my attention several years ago about the origins of Easter.

And the pagan roots of Easter.

Before you decide to click away let me explain.

Easter Origin and Roots

The actual origin of Easter is based on an ancient pagan celebration.

Although it’s the holiest of days for Christians to observe the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The problem is that Easter has become commercialized and now it is a mix of pagan and Christian beliefs.

This may be foreign to some that have never heard this before.

Although the origin of Easter dates back to ancient times.

You see the origin of Easter involves the birth of the Semiramis.

Going back further in the Bible in the time of the global flood that is recorded Genesis 6-9.

Nimrod is the grandson of Noah and was a ruthless ruler.

Upon nimrod’s death, his wife queen Semiramis deified him as a sun god.

This would later, known as the baal worship.

People that worship Baal also known as Baal worshipers became associated with unspeakable evil such as demon worship, human sacrifice, and idolatry.

So getting back to the origin of Easter.

Easter involves the birth of Semiramis and people of this time were lead to believe that Tammuz is Nimrod reborn.

And they stated he was supernaturally conceived.

This led to demons being worshiped.

And Semiramis as a goddess of fertility.

In some cultures, she was called Ishtar or Easter.

Later Easter became a springtime ritual by Semiramis following the death of Tammuz.

An interesting fact is that the Semiramis associated rabbits with fertility and it’s goddess Ishtar.

Now you know the origin of Easter.

Although evil will always try to corrupt that which is holy.

I believe in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And that the Father sent his Son to satisfy the judgment for those who believe in Him.

Jesus died for our sins taking the punishment that we deserve and was buried and rose from the dead according to the Scriptures.
