How to get to heaven is a very important question.
During my college years, there were many classes you could choose about religions of the world.
Since I was raised and believed in Jesus most of my life I was solid about how to get to heaven.
Although many of my friends at the time weren’t so sure.
The friend that stuck out most was Jason he was interested in Buddhism, New Age, and Hindu practices.
I told him my belief as a Christian and the Bible Verse That Speaks On How To Get To heaven.
He was very hostile about anything to do with Christianity because his parents forced it on him growing up.
At least that is what he told me so I didn’t push very hard about trying to persuade him just kept planting seeds at first.
Although almost a year later we got into a heated discussion on the topic of how to get to heaven.
Jason kept saying a lot of the same talking points you would hear in a classroom or from other unbelievers.
Some Of The Most Common Statements:
- How Can All The Other Religions Be Wrong?
- How Do You Know For Sure Jesus Is The Only Way To Heaven?
- What If Your Wrong?
There were many others, but those were the statements that came at me most often.
What I didn’t understand at the time was that by debating with Jason over Christianity God was also building my own faith.
I gave Jason all of the facts needed on how to get to heaven.
Now it was between him and God.
He couldn’t plead ignorance because he had all the information right in front of him.
We agreed to stop talking about this subject since it would only lead to another argument.
Over the years we rarely hung out to play sports and watch a game.
It was almost a decade later that we finally caught up.
He said remember when we agreed to stop talking about how to get to heaven?
Yes, but now you want to?
Jason said he experimented with different religions and none of them offered salvation and when he dabbled in new age it was all about control and he even had an encounter with a demon.
It scared him so bad he decided to just avoid religion entirely.
So I asked him did you even bother to study Christianity?
He said yes, but only because he married a Christian.
She brought him to her church and gave him a Bible to read when they were dating.
Jason said the things I said to him years ago about Jesus kept coming up in his mind.
Then one day as he was sitting in church with his wife he started to cry.
There was singing and people praising the Lord all around him.
And he said I felt a weight lift off my shoulders and Jesus come into my heart.
His eyes filled with tears as he was telling me this.
Then he said he felt great sadness because he was denying the one true God.
The only God that is true the only God that knew me before I was born.
He felt sad and joyful at the same time because his search for how to get to heaven was now over.
Although a heart of sadness because of all the years of going after false gods.
Jason said it was at that moment I understood why you wouldn’t give up on me.
Because when God lives inside you the Love of God wants to save those that are lost.
I was very happy that Jason gave his life to Jesus.
It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen on God’s timeline.
