When I was a kid, I remember a neighbor telling me about a house that was haunted.
Later that day, I got home and asked my parents do Christians believe in ghosts.
No, we don’t.
“That’s not what they are and that was all that was said about it at the time.”
My neighbor wasn’t Christian and didn’t believe me when I said ghosts aren’t real.
We got into a kid debate over it.
Kinda went like this…
No, they aren’t … Yes, they are …
That went on all day.
Years later I wanted to learn more about the subject so I decided to learn for myself the Biblical view on what ghosts are.

Ghosts are actually disembodied spirits and no they aren’t long-lost family members or friends. To put it more clearly ghosts if you want to call them that are demons.
This topic has many levels and can become very in-depth but for the purpose of this article, I’ll only be talking about the Christian view of what ghosts are.

Since ghosts aren’t real what are they?
Your imagination can run wild thinking about this.
Ghosts are demons.
Demons have the ability to appear as people you may have known or shapeshift into many different forms… even a ghost.
They are liars and can deceive you into thinking you have a ghost when in fact it’s a demon.
What Does The Bible Say About Ghosts?
The spirit world is very real that is why you should not get involved with the paranormal.
Demons can cause a lot of harm beyond what you can imagine so have nothing to do with the new age, mediums, or necromancers.
The Bible lets you know that demons masquerade as angels of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
There are many different kinds of demons but all of them want to scare, hurt, or destroy you in one way or another.
You may have a curiosity to dabble with the occult or learn more about demons, but it’s best to have nothing to do with it.
Keep your focus on God and away from things not of God.
You’ll be glad you did.
It’s important to understand that once you die you don’t come back to earth as a ghost to scare people or speak to people with “secret information”.
As it says in the Bible it is appointed to man once to die and then judgment. Hebrews 9:27
When you die you have two options Heaven or Hell.

Demons come to cause harm and destroy your life.
That’s why it’s important to not be ignorant as to what ghosts really are.
And it’s also important to keep your focus on God and away from the demonic.
Have nothing to do with horoscopes, mediums, ouija boards, or anything to do with the occult.
It opens doors to the demonic and can even lead you away from God.
